Where do you even start with Gucci Mane? He is by far the worst rapper to hit it big this year. Thanks to his constant fucking mumbling, you can't understand a single word he says (most evident on the track 'The Movie'). Even when you do hear a word or two, you wish hadn't. I wish I could comment on his flow, but, he doesn't have a fucking flow. Fuck it, let's just post a Gucci picture.
Ok - as for more thoughts on the album - I'm not quite sure what exactly Gucci trying to achieve. Somewhere in the middle of the album, we jump from brag rap tracks to a bunch of atrocious love songs. 'Sex In Crazy Places' in particular has two of the worst non-Gucci rapping performances from Nicki Minaj and Trina - they even make Gucci look good. Regardless, the album refuses to stay consistent and the positives are scattered in choruses not even sung by Gucci.
The best part about this album is probably the two verses that Bun B and Devin the Dude lay down on 'Kush is My Cologne'. It's a shame the chorus comprises of Gucci yelling "KUSH IS MY COLOGNE", because, fuck, that song is nearly listenable. The beats aren't too bad either, but it's too bad you have GUCCI MANE rapping over them. Gucci Mane could even make a Madlib or J-Dilla beat sound weak. 'Spotlight' and 'Sex In Crazy Places' have some nice choruses too, maybe Usher and Bobby Valentino should get a better rapper for their choruses. It's a shame this album is 70+ minutes long, because with that - none of these pros even fucking matter.
Luckily for our Bart Simpson Chain-wielding protagonist, it seems he has two sequels to this album in production: The Appeal and The Verdict. Dear god, there was a fucking concept in this? AND THERE ARE GOING TO BE SEQUELS?
Highlights: Kush is My Cologne, only for Bun B and Devin the Dude.
Fucking retarded shit: Every other song.
